Marina Utilities directs marina developers, owners and operators to available financial and grant programs for receiving financial federal, state and local grant money for new marinas and retrofit improvements. CLEAN VESSEL ACT GRANTS
Marina Utilities has provided the design and installation of marina utilities to more than 350 completed marinas and is an informative source regarding the application for State of Florida funding for sewer pump-out at marinas.
Since the Clean Vessel Act program’s inception in the early 1990s, the program has awarded nearly $150 million to states to install thousands of sewage pump-out stations.
According to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director, H. Dale Hall, in 2008 more than $13.6 million in grants were awarded to 27 states under the Clean Vessel Act program. The grants were used to fund the construction and installation of sewage pump-out facilities, floating restrooms, to purchase pump-out boats and for educational programs for recreational boaters.
In 2008, The Florida Department of Environmental Protection was the recipient of $3,540,848 to fund more than 95 pump-out projects, including sewage pump-out stations, floating restrooms and pump-out boats for inland and coastal waters.
